Abigail Medina

Mass of Christian Burial for Abigail Medina, 57, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church with Father Joe Kannampuzha officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church.

Ms. Medina was born September 20, 1953 in Durango, Mexico to Carlota (Ibarra) and Salvador Medina, and died Tuesday, March 8, 2011 in a local hospital. She had resided in Lufkin for 24 years and was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church.

Survivors include her sons, Jesse Garcia and Juan Garcia and wife Jessica, all of Lufkin; grandchildren, Luis Garcia and Desity Abigail Garcia; mother, Carlota I. Medina of Las Vegas, Nevada; brothers, Antonio Medina and Bartolo Medina, both of Las Vegas, Nevada; sisters, Josefina Medina of Torreon, Mexico, Raguel Medina, Mercedes Medina, both of Victorville, California, Esperanza Medina of Austin and Bertha Flores of Gomez, Durango, Mexico; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her father, Salvador Medina.

Pallbearers will be Jesse Garcia, Juan Garcia, Antonio Medina, Bartolo Medina and Baltasar DeLeon.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. Friday evening at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church.
