Perry Leon Calhoun

Christian Funeral Mass for Perry Leon Calhoun, 60, of Zavalla will be held Monday, January 10, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Joe Kannampuzha and Deacon Gary Trevieo officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mr. Calhoun was born October 13, 1950 in Lufkin, Texas to Mavis Pauline (Grisham) and Floyd Beamon Calhoun, and died Friday, January 7, 2011 at his residence.

Mr. Calhoun resided in Angelina County most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from Champion Paper Mill. Mr. Calhoun also owned and operated the Uneeda Ice Company from 1989-1999 and was a service technician at CiDRA Chemical Management. He was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church, and a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree.

Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Linda Calhoun of Zavalla; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Donnie Neil of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Bryan and Monica Calhoun of Alabama, Jeremy and Rachel Westbrook of Olympia, Washington and Josh Westbrook and Erika Brasuell of Lufkin; grandchildren, Derek Neil, Kayla Neil, Skylar Calhoun, Logan Webb and Jacie Westbrook; mother, Pauline Calhoun of Lufkin; sisters and brothers-in-law, Paulette and J.W. Coey of Balch Springs and Janette and Jerry Thompson of Highlands; brothers and sisters-in-law, Beamon and Doris Calhoun and Billy and Karyn Calhoun, all of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Beamon Calhoun.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Knights of Columbus.
