Catherine Havard

Funeral services for Catherine ""Kate"" Havard, 83, of Huntington, will be held Monday, January 17, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Brother Cary Modisett and Dr. Darryl Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Concord Cemetery.

Mrs. Havard was born July 4, 1927 in Zavalla, Texas to the late Leasie (Boykin) and John Cameron. She died Friday, January 14, 2011, in a Houston hospital.

Mrs. Havard had resided in Huntington for the past 43 years, and previously lived in Lufkin. She was a homemaker and a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a member of the Huntington Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Huntington Garden Club. Mrs. Havard was also a rancher. She was a member of Huntington First Baptist Church and the Lydia Sunday school class.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Carolyn and Fred Houston of Dublin, Georgia, Kenneth Havard of Midway, Texas, and Dee and Craig McFadden of Huntington; grandchildren, Johnny Davidson, Richard Davidson, Karen Atkins, April Stratford, Bradley Havard, Christie Havard, Aric Hancock and Wyatt McFadden; twelve great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sister, Barbara Boulware of Jasper; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mrs. Havard was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Ray Havard.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Davidson, Jeff Stratford, Richard Davidson, Jerry Atkins, Jimmy Due and David Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Havard, Aric Hancock and Robert Ogburn.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
