Richard C. Bivin

Memorial services for Richard C. Bivin, 81, of Lufkin (La Porte for the past 4 months), will be held Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dr. James A. McKibbin officiating. Masonic rites will be recited under the auspices of the Homer Masonic Lodge #254 A.F. & A.M. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mr. Bivin was born July 4, 1929 in Lufkin, Texas, and passed away Monday, September 27, 2010 in La Porte, after a long illness.

Mr. Bivin was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church in Lufkin. He was a member of the Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669 A.F. & A.M. and a past Master of the Homer Masonic Lodge #254 A.F. & A.M.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Mary Lee Bivin; daughters, Debra Dunham and husband Jay of La Porte and Lynne Nagy and husband Roger of Athens, Georgia; grandson, David Wilmoth and wife Anne of San Marcos; brother, Kent Bivin of Lufkin; and faithful little friend, Scooter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nettie B. (DeLafosse) and F.L. Bivin; and son, David Bivin.
