Graveside services for Fannie Mae Powell, 95, of Burke will be held Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Cameron Cemetery with Brother Vic Bass officiating.
Mrs. Powell was born September 9, 1914 in Ratcliff, Texas to the late Sarah L.V. (Burchfield) and John David McComb, and died Wednesday, March 17, 2010 in a local hospital. She resided in Angelina County most of her life and was a homemaker. Mrs. Powell was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Betty Powell of Burke and Garry and Donna Powell of Pearland; son-in-law, Kenneth Gray of the Saron Community; grandchildren, Becky Gray Jackson, Tracy Gray Brown, Jeanna Gray Courtney, Gaylon W. Powell, Eric S. Powell and Charlie Davis; 10 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Powell was preceded in death by her husband, Victor ""Nig"" Powell; daughter, Patron Jean Powell Gray; granddaughter, Debra Kay Gray; one brother; and three sisters.
Pallbearers will be Gaylon Powell, Eric Powell, Jordon Courtney, Jay Jackson, Michael Jackson and Gary Hendrick.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Faith Family Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 153455, Lufkin, Texas 75915 or Hospice in the Pines, 116 South Raguet Street, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
