Pauline Smith Haney

Funeral services for Pauline Smith Haney, 86, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother David Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in the Walker Cemetery.

Mrs. Haney was born October 22, 1923 in Nacogdoches, Texas to the late Donie (Morton) and John Smith, and died Sunday, July 11, 2010 in Lufkin.

Mrs. Haney resided in Lufkin most of her life. She worked at Kroger and Lufkin ISD. Mrs. Haney enjoyed her family and most of all her great-grandchildren. She was a member of Redland Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jonell and David Ashby of Lufkin; grandson and wife, Wayne and Leslie Ashby of Lufkin; great-grandchildren, Alex Ashby, Hannah Ashby and Tate Ashby, all of Lufkin; brother, James Smith of Conroe; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Haney was preceded in death by her husband, M.L. ""Gus"" Haney.

Pallbearers will be Marlyn Smith, Johnnie Smith, Milford Smith, Lloyd Taylor Smith, Ricky Haney and Terry Haney.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
