James Harvey Landers

Funeral services for James Harvey Landers, 50, of Lufkin will be held Friday, July 2, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend D.R. McNaughton and Reverend Michael Gillen officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Wallace Chapel Cemetery following the services.

Mr. Landers was born December 13, 1959 in Lufkin, Texas to Nadine (Aldredge) and Edward Landers, and went to be with his Heavenly Father Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at his residence. He was a lifetime resident of Lufkin. Mr. Landers served in the U.S. Navy. He was owner and operator of Landers Trucking Co.

Mr. Landers was the best husband, father, son, brother and friend that anyone could have. He was an honestly awesome man of God. Mr. Landers loved the church, worship and fellowship and was a deacon at the Harbor Light Church. He also loved fishing with his special friends.

Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Becky Landers; sons, Aaron Landers and Nathan Landers; adopted children, Keith and Carmen Morris; adopted grandchildren, Aaron and Lexie; parents, Nadine and Edward Landers; sisters, Charlotte Mettlen and Lynette Stubblefield; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Norma and David Glawson; special nephew, Little David (Bruzo) Glawson; special friends, Jimmy Berry and James Richard; and numerous other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Landers; and grandparents, Harvey and Effie Bea Aldredge and Woodrow and Vida Landers.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Landers, Nathan Landers, Keith Morris, James Richard, Jimmy Berry, Tom Glawson, Ronald Farr and Rodney Farr.

The family extends special thanks to our wonderful pastors Reverend and Mrs. D.R. McNaughton, our special friends, all the medical staff, and Hospice in the Pines.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
