Funeral services for L.J. Loving, 88, of Lufkin, will be held Monday, May 10, 2010, at 4:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Bro. Charles Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mr. Loving was born September 15, 1921, in Angelina County, Texas and he died Saturday, May 8, 2010.
Mr. Loving was retired from the Mill Supply Division of Lufkin Industries. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and also loved to watch boxing. Mr. Loving was also a horseman and had served in the Coast Guard. He was a member of Denman Avenue Baptist Church and had lived in Lufkin all his life.
Survivors include his stepdaughters and their husbands, JoAnn and Larry Hill of Tyler, Billie and Ray Thornton of Lufkin, and Martha Windsor of Lufkin; grandchildren and their spouses, Mike and Terry Windsor, Dana Helton, all of Lufkin, Todd and Maureen Hill of Atlanta, Georgia, Emily and Charlie Knight, Susie Swanson, all of Dallas, and Tammy and David Nick of Lufkin; numerous great grandchildren; and special friend, Glenn Summers.
Mr. Loving was preceded in death by his loving wife, Irene, and his parents.
Pallbearers are Mike Windsor, David Nick, Zack Nick, Jake Windsor, Kyle Helton, Glenn Summers, and George Rowe.
Honorary pallbearers are the Bennie Ferguson Sunday School Class.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
