George L. Mcmullen

Funeral services for George L. McMullen, Sr., 65, of Lufkin will be held Monday, March 8, 2010 at 12:30 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mardy Guidry and Brother R.G. ""Bud"" Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery.
Mr. McMullen was born October 22, 1944 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Audrey Alene (Brock) and Cullen McMullen, and died Friday, March 5, 2010 in a local hospital. He was a lifetime resident of Lufkin and was employed 25 years by Lufkin Industries. Mr. McMullen made a public profession of faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church on Easter Sunday 2009.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Nelda Havard McMullen of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, George L. ""Scooter"", Jr. and Lydia McMullen of Lufkin; sweetest granddaughters, Kaitlyn McMullen, Chelsea McMullen and Madison McMullen, all of Lufkin; daughter, Toshia McMullen of Lufkin; special grandson, Caleb McMullen of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Mary Lou McMullen of Lufkin; sister, Carolyn McMullen of Lufkin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Matt Johnson, Daniel ""Worm"" Phelps, Wendyl ""Rabbit"" Griffin, Curtis McMullen, Brian Baugh and Tim Stacy.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 116 South Raguet Street, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
