Funeral services for Mary Louise Womack, 89, of Apple Springs will be held Monday, April 19, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Lindsey Nimmons, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Bennett Cemetery in Trinity County.
Mrs. Womack was born May 27, 1920 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Sarah F. (Stubblefield) and Mack Anderson, and died Thursday, April 15, 2010 in a local hospital. She had resided at Womack Ranch near Apple Springs most of her life and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Mrs. Womack was very active in the political area of local, state and national elections for the Democratic Party.
Survivors include her husband, James Womack of Apple Springs; brother and sister-in-law, Billy Mack and Margaret Anderson of Lufkin; nieces, Jeri Gutierrez of Sugar Land, Linda Claybar of Orange, Patricia Anderson of Houston, Janie McVicker of Kemah, Cindy Henderson of Lufkin and Pam Anderson of Houston; nephews, George Michael Dickerson of Oxnard, California, John Anderson of Houston and David Anderson of Redwood City, California; and Godson, Joe Mack Deason of Lufkin.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Womack was preceded in death by her brother, Elwood Anderson; and sister, Polly Kelley.
Pallbearers will be George White, James Harold Smith, Joe Mack Deason, Joe Ned Dean and Loy Mack O'Neal.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bennett Cemetery Association, 227 Max Due Road, Groveton, Texas 75845.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
