Ruben C. Torres

Funeral services for Ruben C. Torres, 56, of Lufkin, will be held Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Jim McDonald and Kyle Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the Jonesville Cemetery.
A rosary for Mr. Torres will be recited at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Carroway Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Rainville, M.S., officiating.
Mr. Torres was born January 10, 1954, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Simona (Cullins) and the late Pablo Jaramillo Torres, Sr. He died Sunday, May 23, 2010, in a Lufkin hospital.
Mr. Torres had previously been employed as a First Pressman for American Color Graphics for more than 24 years, and he had resided in the Lufkin area most of his life. He was currently self-employed as a carpenter. Mr. Torres loved to hunt and camp, to be outdoors, and he loved to cook. He was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine Torres of Lufkin; son, Stephen Torres of Lufkin; daughter, Stephanie Torres of Lufkin; mother, Simona Torres of Lufkin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Louis and Ann Torres, Pablo, Jr., and Lynn Torres, Daniel and Jeanine Torres, Tony and Shelia Torres, Jimmy and Karla Torres, Michael and Jeanne Torres, Johnny and Mary Torres, and Henry and Michelle Torres, all of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Belinda and Richard Yount of Huntington; aunts and uncles, Rosa Guerra of Alice, Juanita and Servando Sanchez, Francisca (Pancha) and Armando Barrera, and Jimmy and Zolema Torres, all of San Diego, Texas; special friends, Scott Griggs, Harold and Connie Estes, and Grady and Helen Lowery; as well numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Dale Fairchild, Mike English, Russell Sparks, Craig Finegan, Bobby Evans and Michael ""Cricket"" Watson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Kolb, James Slaughter and Cliff Davis.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
