Funeral services for Paul G. Coker, Sr., 94, of Livingston, will be held Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother James O. Forrest officiating. Interment will follow in the Ryan Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Coker was born April 22, 1916, in Marquez, Leon County, Texas, to the late Dora (Lovegrove) and Alvin Coker. He died Friday, May 7, 2010 in a Livingston nursing facility.
Mr. Coker was a retired self-employed carpenter, and had resided in Huntington for the past 20 years. He loved the Bible, the Houston Astros, fishing, hunting, and his woodworking. Mr. Coker was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, James W. Coker of Malakoff, Paul, Jr., and Mari Coker of Alvin, Wesley E. and Barbara Coker, Michael D. and Tammy Coker, all of Livingston; thirteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; stepdaughters, Pat Berry and Lucille Phillips, both of Lufkin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Mr. Coker was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Murlene Coker, and wife, Myrl Coker.
Pallbearers will be Wade Coker, Cameron Coker, Brandon Coker, Len Medack, Chris Medack and Eddie Esteves.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
