Funeral services for Oscar M. ""Sonny"" Milligan, 79, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jimmy Hedges and Brother Trey Ainsworth officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mr. Milligan was born November 7, 1931 in Angelina County, Texas to Ora Dell (Anderson) and Clarence Milligan, and died Friday, April 8, 2011 in a local nursing home.
Mr. Milligan was a lifetime resident of Lufkin and graduated from Lufkin High School in 1949. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict, and retired from the Lufkin Industries Trailer Division following 44 years of service. Mr. Milligan was a member of the Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669 A.F. & A.M., and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Jimmie Milligan of Lufkin; daughters and sons-in-law, Paula and Mike Christian of Cleburne and Carrie and Craig Mettlen of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Sarah Milligan of Lufkin; grandchildren and spouses, Julie and Doug Hampton, Laura Christian, Brett and Lauren Bortnem, Ryan Milligan, Cade Milligan and Colton Mettlen; great-granddaughter, Mila Bortnem; sister and brother-in-law, Clarkie Mae and Wayne Brown of Lufkin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Jean Milligan of Lufkin and William and Nina Milligan of Katy; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Brown, J.C. Crawford, J.W. Watson and Dick McKay.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
