Lonnie Ray Vanderford

Funeral services for Lonnie ""Cowboy or Van"" Vanderford, 72, of Lufkin, will be held Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Bro. Brian Lipscomb officiating. Burial will be held Thursday, June 24, 2010, at 12 Noon in the South Park Cemetery in Pearland.
Mr. Vanderford was born May 13, 1938, in Holland, Bell County, Texas, to the late Edna (Gommert) and Leroy Vanderford. He died Saturday, June 19, 2010 in a Lufkin nursing facility.
Mr. Vanderford was a retired pipefitter for Local #211 following 50 years of union service. He had resided in Lufkin for the past four years, and previously lived in Dickinson, Texas for 38 years. He was a United States Army veteran and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Darleen Vanderford of Lufkin; daughter, Audra Coffman of Lufkin; two grandchildren, Blake and Talia Coffman; brothers and sisters-in-law, Vernon and Marguerite Vanderford, Curtiss and Lisa Vanderford, all of Houston; sister, Christine Armstrong of Friendswood; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Marvin Bock, Jarrod Watkins, Blake Coffman, Lanson Vanderford, Christopher Baughn and Martin Vanderford.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
