Funeral services for Shirley Booth, 76, of Lufkin will be held Monday, January 3, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Charles M. Roberts and Brother Kevin Roy officiating. Interment will follow in the Largent Cemetery.

Mrs. Booth was born October 28, 1934 in Luling, Texas to the late Margaret (Smith) and Kirby A. Blewett, and died Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at her residence.

A former resident of Denton, Mrs. Booth had resided in Lufkin since 1996. She received an Associates Degree in Food Service from the North Harris County Community College, and attended the University of Corpus Christi, Southwestern Seminary and Sam Houston State University. She retired as office manager and food service director after serving for 25 years at Peach Creek Baptist Assembly in New Caney and Camp Copass in Denton. However, her life's vocation was being a loving mother, grandmother, and a loving pastor's wife. Mrs. Booth was a member of Denman Avenue Baptist Church and the Esther Sunday school class. She was also a Red Hatter.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Wilburn Booth of Lufkin; daughters and sons-in-law, Jeni and Ted Williams of Rosebud, Sheri and Mike Cassin of Lufkin, and Lauri and Brian Pendland of Palestine; son, Joe Churchill of Wilmer, Alabama; grandsons and granddaughters-in-law, Carey and Rachel Williams of Denton and Ben and Alyssa Williams of Moffit; granddaughters, Veronica Calderon of Lufkin, Valory Calderon of Palestine, Kaili Jo Williams of Rosebud and Morgan Churchill of Pensacola, Florida; great-granddaughter, Heather Chambers of Denton; great-grandsons, Branson Williams of Moffit, Austin Williams of Denton, Aaron Williams and Cameron Williams, both of Moffit; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Nancy Blewett of Kingsbury; and nephews and nieces, Kevin Blewett, Michelle Targun, Beth Cassarona, Kathy Everett, Robert Booth and Tim Booth.

Pallbearers will be Ted Williams, Mike Cassin, Brian Pendland, Joe Churchill, Carey Williams and Ben Williams.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Williams, Tom Williams, Jr., Joseph Williams and Bill Jones.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Denman Avenue Baptist Church Missions Fund, P.O. Box 1351, Lufkin, Texas 75902.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
