Phillis Cree Riley

Funeral services for Phillis C. Riley, 20, of Lufkin, will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Pastor William Chillis officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Phillis was born December 29, 1990, in Houston, Texas. She died on Wednesday, December 29, 2010.

Phillis had lived in Lufkin since 2002, and was currently a sophomore at Stephen F. Austin University. Phillis was a member of the Lufkin IHOP family, a previous member of the Lufkin High School Debate Team and the Anime Club. She was of the Christian faith.

Survivors include her parents, Philip Riley and Cheryl Riley of Lufkin; sister, Ovella Riley of Lufkin; brother, Phillip Samuel (Sam) Riley of Lufkin; grandmother, Isabele Riley of Lufkin; godmother and godfather, Rebecca Porter and Tommie Porter of Houston; step-grandmother, Patsy Weathers of Houston; aunts and uncles, Jewel Veal, Tonita Elzy, Davida and Patrick Taylor, Allineice and Reginald Holbert, Gladys and Kenneth Rusk, Jeane and Billy Owens, Jacqueline and Luther Gilmore, Theresa Riley, Teddy Veal, Darryl Coleman, John and Deandra Weathers, Earl and Barbara Riley, Lynn Riley, Ricky Riley, Jared Riley, Cory Riley and Jason Riley; special friends, Mr. Mike and Mrs. Carol Ghercherechi; as well as numerous cousins.

Phillis was preceded in death by grandparents, John D. Weathers, Delores V. Weathers, Acie Lee Riley, and Una Faye Riley.

Visitation will be held before the service from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at the funeral home.
