Funeral services for Rachel Polk Emanis, 86, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Reverend Bob Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery.
Mrs. Emanis was born April 18, 1923, in Zavalla, Texas to the late Bettie (Roberts) and John Henry Polk. She died Sunday, April 11, 2010 in a Lufkin nursing facility.
Mrs. Emanis had lived in Lufkin for the past 15 years, and was a former resident of Fredericksburg. She was a homemaker and a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Mrs. Emanis attended Lufkin's First Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her husband, J.L. Emanis of Lufkin; sons and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Carolyn Emanis of Spring and Kenneth Emanis of Lufkin; daughters, June Frensley and Gayle Ryter, both of Lufkin; five granddaughters and one grandson; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Lois Bishop, Bell Skinner, both of Baytown, Melba Oliver of Oklahoma City, and Joy Johnson of San Antonio; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Mrs. Emanis was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Reverend Homer Polk and Marcus (J.M.) Polk.
Pallbearers will be Kelton Polk, Mark Polk, Landon Polk, Eric Polk, Brent Call and Chris Ryter.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
