Alex Barnes

Graveside services for Alex Barnes, 58, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fielder Cemetery with Pastor Michael Henson officiating.

Mr. Barnes was born February 5, 1952 in Stamford, Texas to Lillian (Kirkland) and Arvil Alexander Barnes, Sr., and passed away after a brief illness Saturday, June 26, 2010 in a Tyler hospital. He worked for Brookshire Brothers Fresh Market. Mr. Barnes was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lueders.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Andra Henson Barnes of Lufkin; sons, Bret Barnes and Mark Barnes, both of Lufkin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Irene Barnes of Cleburne and John Harold and Delores Barnes of Lufkin; mother-in-law, Merle Henson of Lufkin; special cousin, Billy Wade Barnes of Arlington; brothers and sisters-in-law from the Henson family; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning at the funeral home.
