Graveside services for Denton O'Neil (Coon) Eastwood, 73, of Zavalla, will be held Monday, May 10, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Concord Cemetery with Bro. Jacob Fitzgerald officiating.
Mr. Eastwood was born May 2, 1937, in Jacksboro, Texas, to the late Leona (Meeks) and Truitt Eastwood. He passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2010 in a Lufkin hospital.
Mr. Eastwood had resided in Zavalla for the past 30 years. He had been a construction manager for Harbert-Yeargin. Mr. Eastwood served in the Navy aboard the USS Lexington. He enjoyed fishing and was a devoted Dallas Cowboy fan. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Deborah Helbert Eastwood of Zavalla; sons and daughters-in-law, Glenn and Dianne Eastwood, Kenneth and Mary Eastwood, and Chris Eastwood; daughters and sons-in-law, Carrie and Phillip Mitchell, Sonya and Dusty Birchfield; grandchildren, Chase Fulfer and wife Jennifer, Nichole Fulfer, Justin Lopez, BreAnna Birchfield, Makaela, Kaden, Nevaeh and Hannah Eastwood, Robert Eastwood and wife Connie, and Elizabeth Ramirez and husband Cisco; great grandchildren, Kelcie Ponder, Ian and Creighton Ramirez; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Louise Eastwood, Roy and Rusty Eastwood; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Mr. Eastwood was preceded in death by his parents, Truitt Eastwood and Leona Evans.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dusty Birchfield, David Dykes, Chase Fulfer, Justin Lopez, Jack Helbert and Donald Stringer.
The family extends a special thanks to Dr. Lennin Pinnamaneni and his staff.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home in Huntington.
