Delmar Clark Lawson

Funeral services for Delmar Clark (D.C.) Lawson, 75, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Joe Sawyer and Robert Martin, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Aldredge Cemetery.

Mr. Lawson was born July 20, 1934 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Sarah Francis (Shaw) and Henry Lewis Lawson, Sr., and died Thursday, June 10, 2010 at his residence.

Mr. Lawson was a lifetime resident of Lufkin. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from the Temple Inland Fiberboard Plant following 38 years of service. Mr. Lawson was a member of Memorial Baptist Church.

Mr. Lawson was a very loving husband and daddy. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his wife, children, grandchildren and friends. Our dad never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face. He will be greatly missed by many.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Bonnie ""Jean"" Lawson of Lufkin; daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene McKneely of Nacogdoches, Sharon and Stacey Brooks of Pollok and Karen and Jeff Pinner of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Bettye Lawson and Phillip and Kay Lawson, all of Lufkin; grandchildren and spouses, Shane Lawson, Justin Lawson, April and Michael Mettlen, Maegan Lawson, Ashley and Blake Crager, Amber Brookshire, Casey Brooks, Katie Pinner, Dancler Lawson, Morgan Brooks, Agustus (Gus) Pinner, Amber Kirkland, Janice Smith and Jennifer Davidson; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Cody, Allie, Jaycie, Kristyn and Katlyn; brothers and sister-in-law, Jerry Lawson, J.D. Lawson and Henry and Betty Lawson, all of Lufkin; sisters and brother-in-law, Doris and Jimmy Simms of Lufkin and Louise Dearing of West Columbia; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Lawson was preceded in death by his grandson, Jacob Dwayne Pinner; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bennie and Bonnie Paul.

Pallbearers will be David Lawson, Phillip Lawson, Shane Lawson, Justin Lawson, Dancler Lawson, Jerry Lawson, Stacey Brooks and Jeff Pinner.

Honorary pallbearers will be Henry Lawson, Jr., Robert Martin, Sr., Jimmy Simms and James Simms.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
