Rebecca Lynn Clifton slipped away from this world and into the welcoming arms of Jesus and her awaiting family members in Heaven on March 21, 2011.

Funeral services for Rebecca Lynn Clifton, 34, of Lufkin will be held Friday, March 25, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Claybar Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jeff Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in the Fielder Cemetery.

Rebecca was born May 5, 1976 in Lufkin, Texas. She graduated 3rd in her class from Hudson High School in 1994, and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1998. Rebecca was a home health nurse and a member of Southside Baptist Church.

Left to grieve are her parents, Terry and Sally (Slack) Clifton of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Matt and Miranda Clifton of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Sarah and Jacob Sapp of Lufkin; nieces and nephews, Malerie and Marshall Clifton, Rebekah and Isaac Sapp, all of Lufkin; grandmother, Mrs. Alta Slack of Lufkin; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Edward and Pauline Clifton and Albert Slack.

Pallbearers will be Cliff Hutson, Brex Hutson, John Slack, Mark Clifton, Bruce Clifton, John Poindexter and Casey Moreland.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Hodges and Jim Roper.

Memorial contributions may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 1615 Tulane Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Rebecca was blessed with an affinity for the elderly, children, and animals. She tried to help everyone with whom she came in contact. She was a very sweet and pleasant young woman with a quick wit. She always tried to find humor in the troubles she faced. Rebecca's family and friends will greatly miss her gourmet dishes. She was an excellent cook. We love and miss you so much, Auntie Ro! God speed the day when our circle will be unbroken.
