Clayton C. Johnson

Funeral services for Clayton C. ""C.J."" Johnson, 44, of Lufkin, will be held Thursday, March 3, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Reverend Keith Woolf and Reverend Jimmy Thornton officiating. Interment will follow in the Berry Cemetery.

Mr. Johnson was born January 17, 1967, in Lufkin, Texas; and he passed away Monday, February 28, 2011 in a Lufkin hospital from injuries sustained in an industrial accident.

Mr. Johnson had lived in Lufkin all his life, and he has been employed as a Maintenance Welder with Brookshire Brothers for the past 3 years. He was an outdoorsman, and loved to hunt and fish. Mr. Johnson was a member of Herty Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Lee Johnson of Lufkin; son, James D. Johnson of Lufkin; stepdaughters and son-in-law, Heather and Jared Dunn, Priscilla Spurgeon, all of Lufkin; stepgrandson, Jathan Kyle Dunn of Lufkin; parents, David C. and Louise Johnson of Lufkin; brother, Kelly Johnson of Lufkin; maternal grandparents, Paul and Ethel Munn of Timpson; paternal grandmother, Jessie Bell Johnson of Lufkin; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Donald and Helen Luce of Lufkin; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert and Sherry Trawick, Shan and Stacey McGuire, and Larry Luce; nephew, Kent Johnson of Lufkin; special uncle, James Johnson of Wells; special friend, Buddy Baker of Lufkin; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Marjorie Munn and Alvin Chisenhall, and brother-in-law, Mark Luce.

Pallbearers will be Greg Korn, Gordy Steele, Curt Strock, Roy Anderson, Dillon Johnson, Jeff Hudspeth and Jonathan Buschman. Honorary pallbearer will be Jerry Mosley.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
