Joyce M. Driver

Funeral services for Joyce M. Driver, 87, of Huntington will be held Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Brother Bobby Russell and Brother Floyd Slaughter officiating. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. in the Simpson Campground Cemetery in Woden.

Mrs. Driver was born March 15, 1923 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Bonnie (Morehead) and Rube Andrew Pinner, and died Sunday, May 30, 2010 at her residence.

A former resident of San Antonio, Mrs. Driver had resided in Huntington since 1970 and was the bookkeeper for Flournoy Florist for 12 years. She was an avid quilter and gardener, and enjoyed creating a soothing environment in landscaping her yard, where friends found retreat and refreshment. Mrs. Driver was a member of the Rocky Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Gay and Tom Lyons of Spring; son, Donald C. Driver of Austin; daughter-in-law, Susan Driver of Austin; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brother, Edwin ""Ferdy"" Pinner of Huntington.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Driver was preceded in death by her husband, Carl S. Driver; son, Ronald S. Driver; and brother, Edison Pinner.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Driver, David Lyons, Christopher Driver, Mary Ellen Ritchie, Virginia Riley and Elizabeth Lyons.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Huntington.
