Roy N. Dorsey

Memorial services for Roy N. Dorsey, 75, of Zavalla will be held Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Reverend Rick Williams officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mr. Dorsey was born June 20, 1935 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Emma Elaine (Stone) and Andrew Julian Dorsey, and died Wednesday, December 15, 2010 in a local hospital.

A former resident of Baytown, Mr. Dorsey had resided in Zavalla for three years. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and retired from the Todd Shipyard following 30 years of service. Mr. Dorsey loved to hunt and fish.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Tonyia and Mark Pittman of Zavalla, Theresa and Lloyd Brecheen of Dayton and Lisa and Larry Henderson of Pasadena; sons, Tony Dorsey of Baytown, Earnest Dorsey of Huntsville and Gary Dorsey of Waynesburg, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Zoey O'Callaghan, Lance O'Callaghan, Dylan O'Callaghan, Damien Bollinger, Blake DeLaCruz, Andrew DeLaCruz, Chris Brecheen and Brad Brecheen; sisters, Judy Duffel of Dickson, Tennessee, Mary Jo Knalls of Kingston Spring, Tennessee and Sandra Dorsey of Nashville, Tennessee; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Dorsey was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann (Vaughn) Dorsey.
