Funeral services for Brother Thomas Windham, 72, of Huntington will be held Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Fuller Springs Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Shaun Sifford and Brother James O. Forrest officiating. Interment will follow in the Pollok Cemetery with Brother Terry Gibson officiating.

Brother Windham was born November 11, 1938 in Center, Texas to the late Ruby (Jordan) and P.R. Windham, and died Monday, January 24, 2011 in a local hospital.

Brother Windham resided in Angelina County most of his life. He retired from Lufkin Industries and had been a preacher for 52 years. Brother Windham had been the pastor of Fuller Springs Missionary Baptist Church for 26 years, and had also pastored at Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church and Little Flock Missionary Baptist Church. He was all about people coming to know the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior. Brother Windham loved his family and enjoyed fishing with his wife Sarah.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Sarah Windham of Huntington; sons and daughters-in-law, Dwayne and Lera Windham of Diboll and Jody and Melanie Windham of Gary; grandchildren, Jenifer Windham Smith and husband Brian of Lufkin, Lora Windham of Diboll, Linzy Windham of Gary, Briley Windham of Huntsville, Johnathan Windham and Timothy Windham, both of Gary; great-grandchildren, Nikki Smith, Makinzey Smith, both of Lufkin, Amy Hales-Windham of Henderson and Dustin Smith of Lufkin; brother, Pete Windham of Center; father-in-law, J.D. Sifford of Lufkin; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Linda and Robert Thigpen and Vivian Sifford, all of Pollok; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Brother Windham was preceded in death by his sister, Muriel Redmon; brother, J.D. Windham; mother-in-law, Josie Sifford; and brother-in-law, Charles Sifford.

Pallbearers will be Briley Windham, Johnathan Windham, Timothy Windham, Brian Smith, Brian Thigpen, Mike Thigpen and Jamie Sifford.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Fuller Springs Missionary Baptist Church.

The family extends special thanks to Jim Wood, Larry Dixon and the Fuller Springs Missionary Baptist Church family for their assistance with medical treatment trips to Houston.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Fuller Springs Missionary Baptist Church, with a celebration of life service beginning at 7:00 p.m.
