Hollis David Burnett

Funeral services for Hollis David Burnett, 67, of Lufkin will be held Friday, April 30, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bryan Lipscomb and Reverend Carl Ray Walker officiating. Interment will follow in the Carrell Cemetery.
Mr. Burnett was born October 29, 1942 in Beaumont, Texas to the late Ragna (Squyres) and Hollis Burnett, and died Monday, April 26, 2010 in a local hospital.
Mr. Burnett had resided in Angelina County most of his life. He served in the Texas Army National Guard and retired from Abitibi Paper Mill following 34 years of service. He was President of the Carrell Cemetery Association and attended Providence Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, May Ellon Burnett of Lufkin; son, Alan Burnett of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Dacia and Sid Ballow of Garrison; stepdaughter, Ranleigh McAdams of Lufkin; stepsons, Shaun McAdams of Memphis, Tennessee and Erik McAdams and wife Kim of Melbourne Florida; grandson, Stephen Burnett of Lufkin; granddaughter, Rita Ballow of Garrison; brother and sister-in-law, Doyle and Lucille Burnett of Huntington; sister, Claudia McKenzie of Huntington; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Burnett was preceded in death by his son, Pat Burnett.
Pallbearers will be James Havard, Shane Trahan, Tim Burnett, Colten Burnett, Chris Wade and James McKenzie.
Honorary pallbearer will be Stephen Burnett.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Carrell Cemetery Association, 303 Smith Road, Huntington, Texas 75949.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
