Trudy Hitsch

Private graveside services for Trudy Hitsch, 81, of Lufkin will be held in the Whitehouse Cemetery. A greeting with the family will be held Friday, April 30, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. in the Shadow Creek Apartments Clubhouse, 2807 Daniel McCall Drive, Lufkin.
Mrs. Hitsch was born January 3, 1929 in Krefeld, Germany to the late Gertrude G. (Schmitz) and Johann Wilhelm, and died Sunday, April 25, 2010 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Hitsch and her husband Kurt immigrated to the United States through Canada in 1966. On January 28, 1974 they were naturalized as U.S. citizens in Decatur, Illinois. They retired to Lufkin in 1993. Mrs. Hitsch was an accountant for KTH Consulting for more than 20 years.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Jack Sanford of Kingwood and Anne and Michael Billingsley of Ardmore, Oklahoma; son, John Hitsch of Lufkin; grandchildren, Laurie and Jeff Power, Kristen Shafer and Anna Temple; and great-grandchildren, Blake and Jack Powell.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hitsch was preceded in death by her husband, Kurt Hitsch; four brothers; and three sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 116 South Raguet Street, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
