Effie Richardson Marshall

Funeral services for Effie Richardson Marshall, 77, of Pollok will be held Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Dennis Cook and Reverend Roy Hall officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mrs. Marshall was born February 12, 1933 in Rusk County, Texas to the late Addie (Weatherford) and Forest Richardson, and died Thursday, August 26, 2010 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Marshall had resided in Pollok for more than 50 years. She was a librarian at Hudson ISD for 18 years and was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. Mrs. Marshall was a wonderful wife and mother.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Calvin Marshall of Pollok; son, Joe Marshall of Pollok; son-in-law, Larry Dixon of Pollok; grandsons, John Calvin Marshall, Steven Ryan Marshall, Daniel Wayne Dixon and Phillip Scott Dixon; granddaughter, Lari Michelle Skelton; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Violet and Kenneth Richardson, Christine and Donnie Malmquest and Betty and Charles Shropshre, all of Mt. Vernon; brothers and sisters-in-law, Albert and Millie Richardson of Shreveport, Louisiana, Clint and Patty Richardson of Pollok and Darrell and Annette Richardson of Hudson; special sister, Virginia Ivy of Etoile; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Marshall was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Lynn Marshall; daughter, Janet Leigh Dixon; and sisters, Estell Hamilton and her husband James, Mertie Faye Collier and her husband Rayford.

Pallbearers will be John Marshall, Steven Marshall, Danny Dixon, Phillip Dixon, Jason Skelton and Larry Collier.
