Funeral services for Connie Renee McKay, 45, of Lufkin, will be held Wednesday, February 2, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. in the First Assembly of God Church in Lufkin with Reverend Andy Salagaj and Reverend Donald Bearce. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mrs. McKay was born August 19, 1965, in Lufkin, Texas; and she died Saturday, January 29, 2011 in a Lufkin hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Mrs. McKay had lived in Lufkin all her life. She was a 1983 graduate of Lufkin High School, and a graduate of Angelina College and Stephen F. Austin University. Mrs. McKay was a teacher. For the past two years, she had been teaching at Corrigan-Camden Junior High School. However, she had also taught school at Kennard and Diboll. Mrs. McKay was a member of Lufkin's First Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her husband, Kevin McKay of Lufkin; son, Matthew McKay of Lufkin; daughter, Morgan McKay of Lufkin; mother, Annie M. Morris of Lufkin; father, Linwood D. Morris of Lufkin; sisters and brothers-in-law, Leah and Donald Bearce of Lumberton, Beverly and Mark Phillips of Lufkin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers will be James Vail, Garland Baker, Tommy Chapman, Rev. Donald Bearce, Leon Morris and Hubert Morris.
The family will receive friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
