Joann Hedberg

Funeral services for JoAnn Hedberg, 62, of Lufkin will be held Monday, September 20, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Brent Crosswhite officiating. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Greenwood Cemetery in Fort Worth with Reverend Glen Jones officiating.

Mrs. Hedberg was born September 9, 1948 in Richmond, California to the late Gertrude (Whitaker) and William Murphy, and died Thursday, September 16, 2010 in a local hospital.

A former resident of Duncanville, Mrs. Hedberg had resided in Lufkin for 25 years. She served in the U.S. Army, attended the Dallas County Community College, and was employed with Texas Health and Human Services.

Survivors include her husband, Duane Hedberg of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Teri and Lance Herron of Frisco; son, Matthew Duane Hedberg of Lufkin; granddaughter, Zoe Herron of Frisco; brother and sister-in-law, William and Beverly Murphy of Columbus, Ohio; sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis and Darrel Clark of Weatherford and Edie and Larry Neal of Fort Worth; brother-in-law, Paul Hedberg of Weatherford; niece, Mary Neal of North Richland Hills; nephews, Bobby Clark, Phillip Clark, both of Weatherford, and Billy Murphy of Columbus, Ohio; and numerous other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hedberg was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Arlene Hedberg.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
