Marcell Burnett Burnette

Funeral services for Marcell Burnett Burnette, 83, of Huntington will be held Friday, May 21, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Brother Larry Innerarity and Brother Carl Ray Walker officiating. Interment will follow in the Carrell Cemetery.
Mrs. Burnette was born August 27, 1926 in the Manning Community, Angelina County, Texas to the late Gertie (Jones) and Arthur Burnett, and died Monday, May 17, 2010 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Burnette had resided in Huntington most of her life. She was a loving aunt who was like a mother and grandmother to all her nieces and nephews. Mrs. Burnette loved to travel and fish. She was a member of the Lala Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her nephews, Sterling Burnett, Kenneth Burnett, Milton Burnett, Doyle Burnett, Roy Lee Halliburton, Curtis Halliburton, Gary Halliburton, Glennis Linton, Melvin Linton, Billy Linton, Jerry Lynn Burnette, Donald Ray Burnette and Jim Phillips; and nieces, Helen Temple, Betty Barkley, Claudia McKenzie, Shirley Hearne, Vernell Phillips, Lavern Garza, Earlene Meador, Jo Ann Halliburton, Linda Bonner, Mary Jacks, Chelmar Read, Shirley Nell Lumas, Betty Lee, Charlotte Minyard, Martha Byrd, Rena Gresh, Dorothy Cummings and Virginia Phillips.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Burnette was preceded in death by her husband, D.O. Burnette; brothers, J.B., Cleburne and Hollis Burnett; sister, Marie Halliburton; and nephew, David Burnett.
Pallbearers will be great-nephews, Monty Beckman, Alan Burnett, Tim Burnett, Doug Halliburton, James McKenzie and C.J. Sturgeon.
Honorary pallbearers will be her other great-nephews.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home in Huntington.
