Funeral services for Linda Brown Blackburn, 63, of Hudson, will be held Monday, December 6, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother Jack Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Narrow Way Cemetery.
Linda was born June 7, 1947, in Lufkin, Texas, to the late Leo Brown and Ina (Maloney) Brown. She went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 3, 2010, at Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. Linda was of the Church of Christ faith and attended Union Road Church of Christ.
Linda was a 1965 graduate of Hudson High School and was a graduate of Angelina College Nursing School. She was employed at Memorial Medical Center of East Texas for 26 years as a registered nurse in the newborn nursery. She enjoyed traveling, following her favorite country music star, Vince Gill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Blackburn; her parents; brothers, Carey M. Brown and Joe R. Brown; and sister-in-law, Gail Blackburn.
She is survived by her brother, Jim B. Brown and wife, Judy of San Antonio; her sister, Judy Burgess and husband, Delwin of Hudson; sisters-in-law, Patricia Brown of Hudson and Mary Jo Brown of Plano; aunt and uncle, William Lee and wife, Reba of Zavalla; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Diane and Tommy Sims of Lufkin; and a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and friends of the medical profession.
Pallbearers are nephews: Russell Brown, Stephen Brown, Jody Brown, Scott Burgess, Will Brown and David Burgess.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
