Billie Evelyn Marsh

Funeral services for Billie Evelyn Thompson Reeves Marsh, 80, of Richmond, Texas will be held Monday, January 24, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Grace Baptist Church with Reverend Dean Reeves and Reverend Elton Musick officiating. Interment will follow in the Simpson Cemetery in Pollok, Texas.

Mrs. Marsh was born November 28, 1930 in Cherokee County, Texas to the late Doffie (Goodwin) and Earl Edward Thompson, and died Friday, January 21, 2011 in a Houston hospital. A Lufkin resident for most of her life, she had resided in Richmond for a year. Mrs. Marsh was a member of the United Methodist Church. She loved her flowers, gardening and her artist work which she began later in life.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, James K. and Sara Reeves of Buchanan Dam, Kyle Reeves of Houston, Donny and June Reeves, Greg and Debra Reeves, all of New Caney, and Dean and Lisa Reeves of Richmond; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Pete and Blendina Thompson of Lufkin, Bud Thompson of Pollok and C.L. and Janice Thompson of Lufkin; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joy and James Hicks of Lufkin, Lurlene Purdy of Lindale, Omie Brown and Linda and James Harris, all of Pollok; father of her sons, James Reeves; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Marsh was preceded in death by her husband, James Marsh; sons, Richard Elliott Reeves and Phillip Gordon Reeves; sister, Irene Gorham; and brothers, Grady ""Dunk"" Thompson and David Larry Thompson, Sr.

Pallbearers will be John Rhodes, Gus Able, Brett Chancey, Richard Reeves, Russell Reeves, Phillip Reeves and Charles Elkins.

Honorary pallbearers will be D.J. Stone, Steve Marsh and James Harris.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Simpson Cemetery Association, 4523 FM 1819, Pollok, Texas 75969.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
