Funeral services for Raymond G. Redd, 55, of the Helmic Community in Apple Springs will be held Friday, April 9, 2010 at 12:30 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Lester McAdams officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Trinity County.
Mr. Redd was born June 14, 1954 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Dorothy Nell (Rhodes) and Marion Thomas Redd, and passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2010 after a five year battle with cancer.
Mr. Redd had resided in the Apple Springs area for 33 years and was employed with Trinity County for 16 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter and fisherman, and loved to camp on the river. Mr. Redd attended Lufkin's First Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Redd of the Helmic Community; daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Scott Bailey of Lufkin; granddaughters, Brooke and Madison Bailey, both of Lufkin; brothers and sister-in-law, Lewis Redd, Roy and Kathy Redd, all of Redtown and John Redd of Apple Springs; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Redd was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Ray Redd.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Brown, Travis Forrest, Sherwood Forrest, David Prestidge, John Tullos and Michael Burke.
Honorary pallbearers will be Clyde Loftin, Dallas Sanders, Robert Minshew, Kenny Sangster and George Griffith.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
