Funeral services for Ronal H. Brandon (Ron), 62, of Nacogdoches, will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother Brett Maisel officiating. Eulogies will be given by Clyde Herrington and Wesley Hoyt. Interment will follow in the Harmony Cemetery.

Mr. Brandon was born May 25, 1948 in Nacogdoches, Texas, to Annie D. (Choate) and the late Hoyt Brandon. He died Sunday, March 13, 2011 in Mansfield, Louisiana.

Mr. Brandon had served in law enforcement for 37 years. For the past 15 years, he was an Investigator for the Angelina County District Attorney's office. He had also served with the Angelina County Sheriff's Office for 17 years as the Chief Deputy, as well as serving with the Diboll Police Department. Mr. Brandon taught at the Angelina Police Academy.

Mr. Brandon served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam, where he was wounded and spent a year in the hospital receiving outpatient treatment. For the remainder of his life, he was still undergoing surgeries for his service-related injury.

Mr. Brandon enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, hunting and coaching softball games. He loved his family very much.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Brandon of Nacogdoches; son, Ronal Scott Brandon of Woden; daughters, Charlotte Rochelle Brandon of Nacogdoches, Heather Wynett Noll and son-in-law Mike Noll of Teague, and Kori Diane Brandon of Lufkin; mother and father, Doris and Leon Berryhill of Lufkin; sisters, Pamela Smith of Huntsville, Pam (Kay) Bonner of Lufkin; stepson, Brian Ainsworth of Nacogdoches; stepdaughter, Kristi Luther of Nacogdoches; thirteen grandchildren; one great grandchild; six step-grandchildren; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Clyde Herrington, Wesley Hoyt, Wayne Elledge, Warren Elledge, David Sessions, Charles Allen Muckelroy, Ronal Scott Brandon and Mike Noll.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1125 Judson Rd. #150, Longview, Texas 75601; or to the American Diabetes Association, Houston Office, 2400 Augusta Dr., Suite 175, Houston, Texas 77057.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
