Funeral services for Earline Parker Grimes, 86, of Bossier City, Louisiana will be held Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. John Greene officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Grimes was born November 11, 1923 in Longstreet, Louisiana to the late Vesta Irene (Respess) and Robert Earl Parker, and died Wednesday, October 27, 2010 in Louisiana.

A former resident of Lufkin, Mrs. Grimes had resided in Bossier City for over 20 years. She worked at Clark's Department Store in Lufkin and was a member of Harmony Hill Baptist Church. Two quotes that Mrs. Grimes was known for are ""Rome was not built in a day"" and ""Don't be sad, all good things must come to an end"".

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Terry Brown, Cricket Fletcher, all of Bossier City, Louisiana and Jo and Al Buschman of Hudson; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Adarene Grimes of Lufkin; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Alvin Parker of Logansport, Louisiana; sister, Pauline Cornelius of Wichita Falls and Sue Waltman of Lufkin; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Grimes was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Willard Grimes in 1975.

Pallbearers will be Mrs. Grimes' grandsons: Barrett Brown, Bradley Buschman, Randy Grimes, Hunter Burrous, Jeff Philley and Jason Burrous.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
