Chris Sheard

Funeral services for Chris Sheard, 48, of Huntington, will be held Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Brother Joe Sawyer officiating. Interment will follow in the McNiel Cemetery.

Chris Sheard was born May 17, 1962, in San Augustine, Texas, and he died Saturday, August 28, 2010.

Chris had resided in the Huntington area most of his life. He had worked for Dean's Meat Service for 32 years. He loved to play ""42,"" to spend time with his family, to cook, and to be outdoors. He attended First Ora Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Sheard of Huntington; son, Cord Sheard of Huntington; daughter, Macy Sheard of Huntington; father and mother, Delbert ""Mutt,"" Sr., and Alese Sheard of San Augustine; brothers and sister-in-law, Delbert, Jr. and Cindy Sheard of Hudson, Cheyenne Sheard of Huntington; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gary and Anna Ellis of Huntington, Karen and Hope Ellis of Huntington; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Lando Ellis, Josh Ellis, Tyson Ellis, Mark Carroll, Colbert Sheard and Jason Sheard.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Huntington.
