Barbara Ann Dowers

Funeral services for Barbara Dowers, 69, of Vidor will be held Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the Shawnee Church of Jesus Christ with Brother Cary Modisett officiating. Interment will follow in the Colmesneil Cemetery.

Mrs. Dowers was born February 13, 1941 in Beaumont, Texas to Aline Virginia (Shannon) and James Joshua Pady and died Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at her residence. She was a lifetime resident of Vidor. Mrs. Dowers was a sweet and loving grandmother, and the matriarch of her family.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Claude Dowers of Vidor; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Russell Yarbrough of Vidor; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Anita Dowers, Terry and Karen Dowers and Ronnie Dowers, all of Vidor; grandchildren, Tracie, Chae, Christy, Heath, Derin, Mallory, Jordan, Keri, Alisha and Tosha; 13 great-grandchildren; father, James Pady of Vidor; brothers and sisters-in-law, Teddy and Helen Pady of Orange, Leroy Pady of Vidor and Tommy and Janet Pady of Lumberton; sister and brother-in-law, Diane and ""June Bug"" Mansfield of Vidor; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Aline Pady; and grandson, Joshua Russell Yarbrough.

Pallbearers will be Wallace Daily, Mark Yarbrough, Stephen Fregia, Russell Yarbrough, Jordan Dowers and Heath Dowers.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the Shawnee Church of Jesus Christ.
