John M. Cely

Graveside services for John M. Cely, 73, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, October 3, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Frankston City Cemetery in Frankston.

Mr. Cely was born December 11, 1936 in Jacksonville, Texas to Ruth D. (Curry) and David P. Cely, and died Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at his residence. He resided in Lufkin most of his life. Mr. Cely served in the U.S. Army National Guard and was an attorney. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Sherri Cely of Lufkin; daughters and son-in-law, Rebecca Cely and Carlos Martinez of Austin and Tiffani M. Sims of Lufkin; sons, John Mark Cely of Austin, Jeremy Faircloth and John Cely II, both of Lufkin; grandchildren, Matthew Roberts, Hunter Roberts, John Mark Cely, Jr., Jacob Cely Meyer, Walker Cely Meyer, Jenna Elizabeth Cely, Shelby Lynn Faircloth and Pia Lena Cely Martinez; sister and brother-in-law, Debby and Frank Marshall of Corrigan; and a number of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Honorary pallbearers will be Johnna Lowe, Steve Bolt, Eric Bolt, Gerald Goodwin, Sam Griffin, Bob Flournoy, George Chandler, Andy Jordan, Sr., Dr. Ronald Corley, Frank Marshall, Daniel Dover, Cliff Faires, Derek Lowe, Keith James, Ricky Roberts, Jeff Austin, Sr. and Smith Malone.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
