Funeral services for Jimmie Lee Billingsley, Jr., 55, of Pollok will be held Monday, May 3, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother M.L. ""Bud"" Magee and Brother Tim Roberson officiating. Interment will follow in the Fielder Cemetery.
Mr. Billingsley was born September 9, 1954 in Lufkin, Texas to Elizabeth (McSween) and Jimmie Lee Billingsley, Sr., and died Friday, April 30, 2010 at his residence.
Mr. Billingsley was a 1972 graduate of Little Cypress High School in Mauriceville, Orange County, Texas. His first job as a teenager was working for the Orange County Mosquito Control. He worked for DuPont and Firestone Chemical Plant as a teamster, and Bethlehem Shipyard as a boilermaker. Mr. Billingsley retired as a brick mason. He had resided in Pollok for 13 years, was a member of the NRA, and attended O'Quinn Baptist Church.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, Jim and June Billingsley of Pollok; mother and stepfather, Elizabeth and Jack Southerland of Red Springs, North Carolina; sister, Rhonda Billingsley Hoffpauir of Sulphur, Louisiana; stepbrothers, Jim Sharp and wife Kim of Livingston and Adam Sharp of Midland; stepsister, Amber Sharp of Pollok; niece, Chrystal Brandy McGraw of Athens, Alabama; nephews, Dustin Holder of Groves, Audie Wood and wife Katie, Mason and Cassandra Wood, all of Sulphur, Louisiana; great-niece, Novalee Wood of Sulphur, Louisiana; great-nephew, Collin McGraw of Athens, Alabama; aunts, Sylvia Forsythe and husband Pete, Louise Anderson and husband I.D., all of Huntington and Virginia Billingsley of Kerrville; uncle, Garland Redd of Center Point; and special friends, Addie Kirkland, J.D. Sifford, Pat and Carol Muckelroy and Travis Carrington.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Sabrena Billingsley Holder and Brenda Billingsley Clark; grandparents, Jeff and Selma Billingsley and Mason and Hixie McSween; aunt, Lorena Billingsley Redd; and uncles, Willard Billingsley, Robert Billingsley and Walter Billingsley.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Holder, Audie Wood, Mason Wood, Robert Wayne Billingsley, Adam Sharp and Pat Muckelroy.
Honorary pallbearers will be J.D. Sifford, Mike Risinger, Robert Forsythe and Pete Forsythe.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
