Miriam L. Dubose Dawson

Funeral services for Miriam L. DuBose Dawson, 86, of Lufkin will be held Friday, March 18, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park, with interment following the services. Reverend Leslie Wilkinson will officiate.

Mrs. Dawson was born August 24, 1924 in Brookeland, Texas to the late Bessie (Powell) and William Pratt DuBose, and died Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at her residence. She resided in Lufkin most of her life and was the office manager at the John Cely Law Firm for many years. Mrs. Dawson was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Debby and Frank Marshall of Corrigan and Sherri Cely of Lufkin; granddaughters, Johnna Lowe of Corrigan and Tiffani Faircloth of Lufkin; grandsons, Derek Lowe and wife Robin of Diboll, Jeremy Dawson Faircloth and John M. Cely II, both of Lufkin; great-granddaughters, Kourtney McMullen and Shelby Lynn Faircloth, both of Lufkin; great-grandsons, Jimmy F. Kee and fiancee Brittany Barclay of Corrigan, Jonathan D. Lowe, Jay Dawson Lowe, both of Diboll; Matthew Roberts of Lufkin, J. Max Willson of Corrigan and Hunter Dawson Roberts of Lufkin; great-great-granddaughter, Hudsyn Camp of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Nell DuBose of Lumberton; sisters-in-law, Ruth DuBose of Lumberton and Helen DuBose of Jasper; ""Do Nothing Girls"", Jackie Ford Smith, Sue Dietz and Billie Smith; special friends, Kathy Matthews and Edna Mullican; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dawson was preceded in death by her husband, William W. ""Bill"" Dawson; four brothers; and son-in-law, John Cely.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Friday afternoon at the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel.
