Funeral services for Glova Darlene Schultz, 84, of Lufkin, will be held Thursday, September 9, 2010, at 2:30 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Reverend Terry Hodge officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery.
Mrs. Schultz was born November 20, 1925, in Keota, Iowa, to the late Nelly Grace (Stamp) and Howard V. Bower. She died Monday, September 6, 2010.
Mrs. Schultz was a homemaker and a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She also worked as sales manager for the W.H. Johnston Furniture Store for 23 years. Mrs. Schultz was a member of the First Christian Church, the SPJST Lodge #191, the Polka Dots Dance Club, the Order of the Eastern Star, Keota, Iowa Chapter, and a member of the Pilot Club since 1977. She has been a resident of Lufkin since 1966.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Robert A. Schultz of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Alan E. and Jamye Schultz of Nacogdoches; daughters and son-in-law, Vicki and James Sachtleben of College Station, Becki Medley of Nacogdoches; grandchildren and their spouses, Brett and Kim Sachtleben, Sean and Laura Sachtleben, Kristen Sachtleben, Leslie and Chris Cuzick, all of Houston, Chuck and Chrystal Medley of Nacogdoches, Elizabeth and Strickland Tudor of Leawood, Kansas, and Brannon Norton of Dallas; great grandchildren, Erich Sachtleben, Anna Sachtleben, both of Houston, Claire Tudor, James Tudor, both of Leawood, Kansas, and Savannah Baker of Nacogdoches; sisters, Thelma Linder of Apopka, Florida, and Eunice Walton of Marengo, Iowa; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Mrs. Schultz was preceded in death by her parents; her son-in-law, Sam Medley; and her brother, Fred Bower.
Pallbearers will be Brett Sachtleben, Sean Sachtleben, Chuck Medley, Brannon Norton, Chris Cuzick and Tim Healy.
Honorary pallbearers are Dave Oates, Tucker Weems, Doyle Oliver, Jim Gray, Bill Simpson, J.W. Neal, Charles Reed, Billy Beaver, Billy Robertson and Charles Young.
