Carolyn Burke Risinger

Funeral services for Carolyn Burke Risinger, 67, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Billy M. Ford officiating. Interment will follow in the Burketown Cemetery.

Mrs. Risinger was born February 2, 1943, in Dallas, Texas to the late Lorene and J.A. Burke, and died Monday, October 4, 2010, in Nacogdoches from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Mrs. Risinger was a lifetime resident of Lufkin. She was the co-owner of Just Texas Processing, worked for Texas State Optical for 10 years, and co-owned Jim's Smokehouse for 10 years. Mrs. Risinger enjoyed crossword puzzles, taking care of her cats, horses, and horseback riding. She was of the Nazarene faith.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Jim Risinger of Lufkin; sons and daughter-in-law, Kirk Risinger of Lufkin and Ronny and Tina Risinger of Round Rock; daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Dave Michalek of Friendswood; grandchildren, Adam, Jenna, Emily, Erin, and Eric; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Paul Fenley, Kim Reynolds, Phillip Morgan, Bill Moser, Perry Henson, and Eldon Fuller.

Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Havard and Herman D. Harvey.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Winnie Berry Pet Adoption Center, P.O. Box 472, Lufkin, Texas 75902.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
