Carroll Brown, Sr., 68, of Pollok, died Sunday, August 15, 2010 at his residence. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mr. Brown was born January 15, 1942, in Woodville, Texas, to the late Liddia Elma (Randolph) and Tammage Auburn Brown. He was retired from the Maintenance Department at Lufkin Industries following more than 25 years of service. Mr. Brown was an avid fisherman and hunter. Formerly of Humble, he had resided in Pollok for 19 years.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Omie Brown of Pollok; son, Carroll Brown, Jr., of Houston; son and life partner, Carl Eugene and George Brown of Houston; stepson, Gary E. Thompson of Pollok; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Linda and Kim Champagne of Livingston; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rita Faye and James Ray Luce of Porter, Louise and H.L. Patterson of Hearne; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Anthony Temple; two brothers; two sisters; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Earl and Doffie Thompson.
The family will receive friends and loved ones at the Brown residence located at 834 Thompson Road, Pollok, Texas, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening.
