Funeral services for Hazel Dunn Pinner, 87, of Pollok will be held Thursday, May 20, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Joe Carriere officiating. Entombment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park Sunset Mausoleum.
Mrs. Pinner was born November 8, 1922 in Pollok, Texas to the late Docia B. (Colbert) and Willis J. Dunn, and died Monday, May 17, 2010 in a local hospital. She was a lifetime resident of Pollok and a member of Pollok Baptist Church, where she was the assistant Sunday school secretary for many years.
Survivors include her daughter, Faye Benefield of Pollok; grandson and wife, Mike and Susie Clark of Pollok; granddaughter and husband, Renee and Dwayne Shanks of Jasper; great-grandchildren, Lacy and Haley Clark of Pollok and Troy and Caty Shanks of Jasper; nieces, Barbara Oquinn of Pollok and Janice Copeland of Kilgore; nephew and wife, Cary and Marlene Brown of Longview; brother-in-law, Hubert Oquinn of Pollok; and all of her special friends at Pollok Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pinner was preceded in death by her husband, R.W. Pinner in 1993.
Pallbearers will be Edmon Kelsey, R.L. Lehman, Jack Warner, John Young, Kenneth Franklin and Melvin David.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Abney, John Riley Oquinn, Frank Fredregill and Kenny Modisette.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
