Diana Lou Morrow

Funeral services for Diana Morrow, 76, of Lufkin will be held Friday, January 7, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Henderson Chapel of the First United Methodist Church of Lufkin with Senior Pastor D. Nick Sholars officiating. Entombment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park Sunset Mausoleum.

Mrs. Morrow was born June 30, 1934 in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Amelia (Vanson) and Virgil Ross Sheffield, and died Tuesday, January 4, 2011 in a local hospital. She had resided in Lufkin since June 1974.

Mrs. Morrow graduated from Stephens College and the University of Missouri. She was a 5th and 6th grade teacher, and taught in Kansas City, Missouri, Grand Island, Nebraska, and Jacksonville, Florida, and in 1975 she began teaching at St. Cyprian's Episcopal School in Lufkin.

Mrs. Morrow enjoyed performing in plays at Angelina College. She loved playing Bridge, and taught Bridge classes at Angelina College. Mrs. Morrow was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lufkin.

Mrs. Morrow was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her proudest moments in life were the births of her son and three grandsons.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Terry Morrow of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, James Sheffield and Kimberly Morrow of Plano; grandsons, Taylor, Zach and Jake Morrow; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Jim Prewitt of Indian Wells, California; nieces, Julie Kramschuster, Jill Smull and Janis Auner; and a number of other relatives and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Gene Benton, Bryan Blevins, Arthur Jordan, James Kerbo, Jake Morrow, Taylor Morrow, Zach Morrow and Dr. Jerry Spinks.

Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Crown Colony Neighborhood Dinner Club.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Lufkin, 805 East Denman Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75901 or Hospice in the Pines, 116 South Raguet Street, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
