Funeral services for Burnice Louise Beaird, 77, of Lufkin, will be held Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at 2:30 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother Charles Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in the Berry Cemetery.
Mrs. Beaird was born November 28, 1933, in Rusk County, Texas, to the late Bonnie (Richardson) and John Smith Grammer. She died Saturday, January 15, 2011 in a Lufkin hospice facility.
Mrs. Beaird was a retired head cashier for General Motors, following 15 years of service. She was also a homemaker and a beloved wife and sister. Her favorite pastimes were cooking and playing games, and she had been a member of Denman Avenue Baptist Church for the past 15 years.
Survivors include her sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruby Melancon, Marie and Melvin Deggs, all of Lufkin Willow and Bo McMurrough, and Cecil Barfield, all of Houston; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Mary Grammer of The Woodlands; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Mrs. Beaird was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Scotty R. Beaird; and brother, Troy B. Grammer.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Mark Beaird, James Grammer, Tommy Grammer, Curtis Wayne Barfield, Zack Ecker and Paul Brewer.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at the funeral home.
