Richard L. Lonn

Funeral services for Richard L. Lonn, 70, of Huntington, will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. in the Angel of Joy Lutheran Church in Lufkin with Pastor Paul Geye officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Red Oak, Iowa, at a later date.
Mr. Lonn was born August 3, 1940, in Red Oak, Iowa, to the late Dorothy Mae (Kennedy) and Carl Martin Lonn. He died Friday, April 22, 2011 in a Lufkin hospital.
Mr. Lonn was a retired Certified Public Accountant and Internal Auditor for Gulf Oil Company in Houston for many years. He loved to travel and enjoyed good food. He adored his grandchildren. Mr. Lonn was a United States Army veteran and a member of Angel of Joy Lutheran Church. He had lived in Huntington for the past 15 years and was a former longtime resident of Houston.
He is survived by by daughters and son-in-law, Marlise Lonn of LaGrange, and Julie and Mike Jinkins of Huntington; grandchildren, Kaitlin Jinkins, Kierstin Jinkins and Jarrod Jinkins; former wife, Jean Short of Houston; and two nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Angel of Joy Lutheran Church, 4003 Daniel McCall Dr., Lufkin, Texas 75904; or a charity of one?s choice.
The family will receive friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
