Funeral services for Jennie Brashear Caton, 84, of Lufkin will be held Friday, May 6, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Andy Pittman and Reverend Horace Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Huntington Cemetery.
Mrs. Caton was born October 14, 1926 in the Rocky Springs Community, Angelina County, Texas to the late Missie (Hubbard) and R.C. Brashear, and died Tuesday, May 3, 2011 in a local hosptial.
Mrs. Caton was a lifetime resident of Angelina County. She began working at the age of 17 for the First State Bank & Trust (now Bank of America), and retired as a vice president and loan officer following 45+ years of service. Throughout her life, Mrs. Caton enjoyed memberships in the Lufkin Pine Squares, Kurth Memorial Library Board, Lufkin Quilt Guild and the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Mary Hall Mantooth Chapter. She was a former member of Ryans Chapel Methodist Church and a current member of Lufkin?s First Baptist Church and the Elizabeth Sunday school class. Mrs. Caton enjoyed sewing, coin collecting and square dancing, especially going to the Fun Valley Square Dance Resort in Colorado for 25 years. She also loved playing dominos and 42.
Survivors include her brother, Doyle Hubbard Brashear and wife Agnes; sisters, Claudette Beaird and Dorris Collmorgen and husband Dick; stepson, Greg Caton and wife Cathy; grandson, Clint Caton and wife Billie; great-granddaughter, Kayla Caton; special friend, Ramsey Roach; nieces and nephews, Rick Brashear and wife Elke, Bobbie Davis and husband Jack, Mike Brashear and wife Karen, Danny Brashear and wife Nancy, Jennifer Kempton and husband Brian, Jeanette Taylor and husband John, Randall Beaird, Melanie Ellsworth and husband Kent, Melissa Beaird, Jason Beaird and wife Jordan, Richard Collmorgen and wife Connie, David Collmorgen and wife Angie and Joe Collmorgen and wife Robin; and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Caton was preceded in death by her husband, Pat Caton; brother-in-law, Lynn Beaird; and nephew, Steve Brashear.
Pallbearers will be Rick Brashear, Mike Brashear, Danny Brashear, Randall Beaird, Jason Beaird, Richard Collmorgen, David Collmorgen, and Joe Collmorgen.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
