Stephen L. Burchfield

Funeral services for Stephen L. Burchfield, 51, of Diboll will be held Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Charles Wisdom officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mr. Burchfield was born December 15, 1959 in Lufkin, Texas to Betty (George) and Carl Burchfield, Sr., and died Sunday, May 15, 2011 in Lufkin, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

A former resident of Huntington, Mr. Burchfield had resided in Diboll for two years. He was a machinist at Lufkin Industries. Mr. Burchfield liked to hunt, fish, hang out with his friends and ride his bike. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his son, Justin Burchfield of Lufkin; parents, Carl and Betty Burchfield of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Carl, Jr. and Mary Burchfield of Diboll; nieces, Ashlei Rios of Lufkin, Brittney Burchfield of Katy, Lacy Burchfield and Courtney Burchfield, both of Diboll; great-nephews, Tristen Rios and Payton Vann; uncles and aunts, Bob and Lynda McNease, Clinton George and Denny and Nora George, all of Jacksonville; and numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Oran and Jewel Burchfield and Percy and Jewel George; and aunt, Nell Havard.

Pallbearers will be Brian Badeaux, Brett Badeaux, Billy Stovall, Bruce Jordan, Scott Robertson, David McNease and Kevin Lawrence.

Honorary pallbearers will be all Lufkin Industries Oilfield Division employees, and his biker buddies.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
